Applications typically take between 45 and 60 days to process, though they can take longer in certain rare cases. Financial Assessment — The first component that you will deal with is the financial assessment and disclosure. ALTCS is a Medicaid program for fixed and limited income seniors and others with disabilities who truly have a need for long term care. Medical Assessment — The next component of the application. This is where a medical professional is sent out from ALTCS to run a medical evaluations on the individual applying.

The medical evaluation is out of 60 points and the less the patient is able to do on their own, the more points they receive. Choosing a Provider — There are several providers to choose from and at this part of the application after approval , you must choose a provider. The best way to choose the appropriate provider is to find a facility of your choice and pick one of their providers that they accept.

If you choose the wrong provider, you will not be able to move into the specific facility. Different facilities have contracts with different providers. Ask you doctor which provider they accept. If you have questions on any steps in the application, please give us a call and we would be more than happy to offer guidance. ALTCS Application Status

ALTCS is an Arizona Medicaid program that is designed to help fixed income seniors and other disabled individuals afford the care that they need. ALTCS pays for the care that you need after savings are exhausted. The program requires an application and typically takes between 60 and 90 days for approval. There are two components to the application. The first is a financial assessment, determining whether or not the applicant can afford to pay for necessary care on their own. We are happy to go over your specific financial situation to determine whether or not you qualify. The second component is the functional and medical assessment, which determines whether a person is truly in need of long term care.

Apply for ALTCS

Most of the time we primarily work with a close family member or trusted friend of the applicant. You do need to have access to their personal information and records, and they will need to sign some forms. If they are medically unable to sign, we can deal with that in other ways. Most people do. If you have very low income and assets it is easier, but still not easy. Some applicants run into a lot of frustration and trouble, especially in cases involving trusts or married couples community spouses.
